Naval Threat[]

If you sent your agents to focus on "Foreign threats" during Week 18, they inform you of increasing hostilities from Shanjia. If you didn't send them, Test Logistics ≥70 and Trade ≥40 (must pass both checks):

  • Failure: You don't suspect anything. Nothing happens
  • Success: You figure out the Shanjians' intentions yourself. Test World History =100 or Foreign Affairs ≥20 for flavor text related to Shanjia's recent expansion. Test Trade >=80 for flavor text related to the importance of keeping shipping lanes clear, Partial success (40 ≤ Trade < 80) for flavor text related to the importance of ocean trade. Regardless, if you have money in the treasury, choose:
    • Build more warships: Spend 4,000 lassi from the royal treasury to add more ships to your fleet.
    • Do nothing: Nothing happens.

Falling Star Omen[]

If you don't know about Shanjia neither by your agents nor by the Logistics & Trade check, Test Divination ≥90:

  • Failure: You see a pretty falling star. +1 Cheerful
  • Success: You divine a possible future. Choose:
    • Hire more soldiers: Spend 1,000 lassi from the royal treasury to expand your army. If you don't have the money, you try to raise as many soldiers as you can.
    • Do nothing: Nothing happens.

Sabine's Investigation[]

If you sent Sabine to investigate last week, she will return with news. Flavor text based on how you handled Adair's custody issues and Noble Approval. Test Noble Approval ≥ -40

  • Success: If you sent Adair to live with Armand or Erwin, Sabine tells you Arisse merely holds a personal grudge other nobles won't care about.
  • Failure: Sabine will inform you of the possibility of a rebellion and warns you about Arisse. Test Strategy ≥40 or Public Speaking ≥60 to unlock option "Try to win her support". Choose:
    • Send soldiers to arrest her: They do not return. Arisse will have 200 more soldiers on her side during the civil war
    • Send assassins to kill her: You make her death look like a natural passing. You have prevented a civil war, but Kevan will come after you during Week 33. +3 Cruelty
    • Try to win her support: You send a letter to Arisse to negotiate.

Note: If you sent Adair to live with his grandfather and Noble Approval is not low enough yet, you won't get a chance to stop the civil war should Adair be murdered in the upcoming weeks.
